The OMI Safety Scalpel is designed to reduce the risk of contaminated blade cut injuries suffered by healthcare workers. 
 
The Safety Scalpel provides the following benefits:
o    Reduction in exposure to sharp and hence reduction in blade cut injuries
o    No contact with sharp when disposing blade cartridge
o    Increased cost savings for healthcare facilities
 
The scalpels unique design of a protective guard that covers the blade ensures safe loading, passing, changing and disposing of the blade. Ensuring further protection is the unique safety tab that must be removed by the user before the blade can be exposed.
 
The OMI Safety Scalpel is available as either a completely disposable plastic unit or as a reusable surgical steel handle with disposable scalpel cartridges. Blade configurations are available in a range of #3 and #4 Fitment sizes with the blades fashioned from the highest grade stainless steel “made in Sheffield, England”
